Parent Education Night
Dear FAST Frog families,
As many of you may be aware, our former lead Tadpole coach, Liz Howells, decided to step down at the end of last season and is now coaching in a year-round program at Waterloo Swimming in Austin. Liz was one of the founders of the FAST Frogs team, started the Tadpole program, and we wish her all the best in her new role. The FAST Board has worked hard to find the right person to follow Liz, and so we're pleased to welcome back Anya Lopez-Fuentes as our new lead Tadpole coach. During the summers of 2006 through 2010, Anya was one of our high school/college coaches, and it's great to see her come back to our team. Coach Anya has been swimming competitively since her freshman year in high school at Pflugerville high for Coach Mark. She went on to obtain a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Business from Southwestern University. While at Southwestern, she competed in NCAA DIII swimming, focusing on the 100 and 200 butterfly. After college graduation, she decided to go back to coaching. She has been teaching young kiddos the wonderful sport of swimming, first at Nitro Swimming in Bee Cave, and currently at Waterloo in Northwest Austin. She has a passion for the youngest swimmers and creating a love for the water at a very young age. She's looking forward to returning to the FAST Frog family and working with Coach Mark again this summer. Please join us in welcoming Coach Anya back to Frogs!
