Practice Groups

Tadpoles

These beginning swimmers are unable to swim the length of the pool but have no fear of water or separation anxiety, and are interested in swimming. The focus of the program is to work with the swimmers so they can comfortably and confidently swim the length of the pool in freestyle and backstroke. Upon graduation from the Tadpole program, swimmers are eligible to participate in swim meets as part of the team and move up into the Developmental Group.

Developmental Group (D)

These swimmers are broken into three levels - D1, D2 and D3 - based on age and ability of strokes. Swimmers can swim the distance of 25 yards and have some knowledge of freestyle and/or backstroke. The introduction of breaststroke and butterfly stroke occurs in this group. All "D" swimmers are eligible to compete in meets in the stroke(s) in which they are proficient. The coaches will decide in what event(s) each swimmer will participate whether it be individual and/or relay events.

Training Group (T)

These swimmers are veteran swimmers who have achieved the ability for longer, detailed and faster paced workouts. There are two levels in this group - T1 and T2 - based on age. These swimmers are proficient in all four strokes.  The coaches will decide in what event(s) each swimmer will participate whether it be individual and/or relay events.
